And for being the leader that oversaw Intel IQ —  a branded curated site that shines the spotlight on the role of technology in people’s lives.

How do you define innovation?
Innovation is being a thought leader and driving new standards of creativity and marketing science. True innovators aren’t afraid to take risks, failing, and learning from it so you can be better and more equipped to take on more risk in the future.
 

I don’t view advertising or content marketing as intrusive or uninterrupted, I believe content from a brand can be beautiful and inspirational. My team has launched Intel’s first social media publishing platform called iQ which blends employee curated content with digital content around the world celebrating how technology is changing the lives of every person on earth.

 

Most innovative PR/comms campaign you’ve seen in the last 12 months?
I’m a huge fan of what Chipotle has done to promote sustainability sourced food.

What brands and/or agencies are most innovative when it comes to marketing/PR?
Amazon with their social commerce, Walmart with their Exchange, Coke and Ford.
 

Describe a moment in your career that you would consider ‘innovative.’
When our teams came together across paid, owned and shared, I created a Newsroom with a mentality embrace the 24/7 content opportunity that our customers are looking for around entertainment, knowledge, and information.

Who is your mentor and why?
My mentor is the first person that hired me at Intel 21 years ago, Carl Everett. He has coached me along the way to take on new career positions, and pushed me to places that often felt uncomfortable.
 

How do you get inspired?
I like to read, and I love to watch ads on TV.
 

Advice for people seeking to bring new ideas, ways of doing things to their organizations?
Organizations are filled with exceptional young adults with great ideas and a new approach. Embrace the young minds and foster ways to co-create project and ideas across the teams.
 

In your opinion, what’s the most innovative place in the world? This could be a city, a venue, a neighborhood, etc.
Not that I’m biased or anything, but I see San Francisco as a melting pot for innovation, creativity, science, technology, and talent.
 

What’s your favorite time of day and why?
I’m a morning person, so the earlier the better….and I DO require coffee!
