Account Manager — GCI Health

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for leading activity implementation across key accounts under the guidance of the senior team, to ensure the smooth running of successful integrated communications offerings for our clients. You will also play an active role in mentoring juniors and guiding and developing them in their careers.    

You will have a willingness and ability to drive campaign and client management, be a primary relationship holder with key media and ensure account profitability, and proactively working to effectively support all aspects of GCI Health London’s business.

As an integral team member, bridging between the junior and senior team, you will be expected to behave in a positive manner at all times, motivating staff you work with and those in the wider team both professionally and personally.   

Key responsibilities include:  

✓ Campaign Planning & Management: You will be an active contributor to the generation of creative ideas and strategies that deliver against the communications objectives for each of your clients and oversee the day-to-day delivery of all supporting activity to the highest standard.     

✓ Media Relationship Management: You will establish and maintain strong relationships with key journalists and online influencers representing each of your client’s interests. 

✓ Client Management: You will establish multiple relationships within client organisations including members of the PR, Marketing, Medical and Regulatory teams. 

✓ Copy Writing: You will develop and advance your writing skills for both consumer and medical audiences, including the production of press releases, project proposals, presentations, videos and wider forms of communications content.  

✓ Presentation & Facilitation: You will continue to develop and build on your presentation and facilitation skills, which will be applied internally with teams and externally with clients, prospects and other audiences.    

✓ Networking & Business Development: You will establish and grow strong networks of valuable contacts outside of the media and blogging communities to leverage with clients and for business development purposes.    

✓ People & Team Management:  You will develop a comprehensive blend of management styles and techniques to ensure delivery of client results while motivating, supporting and developing junior team members.  

✓ Knowledge Building: You will have a comprehensive and current understanding of the media, current affairs, client organisations, key market sectors and GCI Health London’s business proposition resulting in client satisfaction and retention. You will proactively put yourself forward for new experiences and challenges to develop your skill set.  

✓ Digital Media: You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the digital media landscape and know the digital media tools available to you and how to incorporate them into client programs.  

✓ Account Profitability: You will maintain account profitability through effective team service levels, time analysis and direct cost recovery, discussing any abnormalities with your senior team members as soon as they arise.  

✓ Positive Attitude: You will ensure your attitude and demeanour at work is one of positivity, respect and support, even in the face of adversity. Junior team members look up to you for guidance on how to act in times of stress and how you treat those around you, so you are expected to be a professional and supportive team player in all interactions at GCI Health London.
