Assistant Vice President, Healthcare - Rasky Partners, Inc.

Position Summary:

Rasky Partners’ Healthcare practice group is looking for a senior member to join their team that will have significant responsibilities for day-to-day management of accounts and client relationships, providing strategic counsel to clients and developing and implementing integrated communication strategies.  The ideal candidate will have experience and comfort level working in a fast-paced environment, liaising with clients as well as colleagues, and playing a key role in new business development efforts.  In addition, candidates must have the ability to work in a team dynamic, think strategically and deliver tactically on communications strategies with demonstrable results on a variety of issues including corporate positioning and reputation.  Familiarity and integration with crisis communications, public affairs and public-opinion risk assessment is also expected.

Essential/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development of integrated client strategies most often to raise the profile of corporations and institutions in the health care field
  • Significant writing responsibilities, ranging from strategy memos to press releases, media reports and new business proposals
  • Develop and pitch story lines for clients, utilizing creativity and being opportunistic on news of the day
  • Manage account team on a range of activities delegated by senior management, including maintaining media lists and media monitoring, research, writing,  and management of client community and internal programs,
  • Serves as media spokesperson for client as required
  • Identifies opportunities for further account development and new business opportunities
  • Maintains individual/firm visibility in the market/industry professional organizations
  • Performs related duties as required/directed
  • Assists with firm marketing activities including management of social media platforms

Qualifications/Background:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required
  • Team player
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible agency experience or equivalent
  • Strong written/verbal communications/presentation skills
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Knowledge and ability to work with Power Point and other presentation materials
  • Previous healthcare experience and knowledge of the industry preferred
  • Solid understanding of digital platforms and tools (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)
  • Well-developed knowledge of media relations and industry related issues
