Associate/Senior Associate , Client Experience - Weber Shandwick

We are currently looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to join our growing financial communications team that sits within our Corporate Issues practice. Our Financial Communications team was recently ranked #7 by The Deal for M&A transactions, and the team has developed a roster of high-profile clients.
The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running on a number of high profile accounts, laying a hands-on role in day-to-day account activity, including: media relations, impactful writing assignments, and ongoing client counsel.
 
The Associate will assist in the development of long-term client plans and program recommendations, developing budgets, generating recommendations and creating presentations. He/she will have experience in working with media, including investigative journalists. Additional responsibilities include conducting research for specific projects and preparing executive summaries and/or analyses detailing the findings of the research.
 
The ideal candidate will possess incredibly strong writing skills and familiarity with a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment. He or she will be intimately familiar with current events and news trends and comfortable providing analysis. Familiarity with social media and digital communications is a requisite, along with a strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in communications and issues management. Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must have meticulous attention to detail and able and eager to juggle multiple responsibilities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Economics or related field
  • 1-2 years agency experience at an investor relations boutique
  • Proven experience working on a variety of investor relations activities, including quarterly earnings support 
  • Strong attention to detail, one example of which is the ability to check every number in a press release or earnings script

Additional Qualifications:

  • Investor Relations experience, specifically experience preparing earnings scripts, investor presentations and press releases, among other materials
  • Understanding of an income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement, fluent in financial metrics such as leverage ratios and EPSAssist in the development of long-term client plans and program recommendations, developing budgets, generating recommendations and creating presentations
  • Develop initial drafts of client presentations (detailing either program results or program recommendations)
  • Experience in strategic investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and initial public offerings (IPOs)
  •  Proven experience working on Corporate Issues
