We are looking for a Content Strategist who is passionate about understanding and reaching our healthcare clients’ audiences through compelling content. In making sure content promotes the desired (re)action, the Content Strategist combines channel and platform knowledge with proven experience in creating strategies that deliver the right messages to the right audiences (B2B and B2C) at the right time.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to analyze and extract insights from existing content, identify gaps and opportunities, develop distribution plans and cadences, and create guidelines for content governance and management. The ideal candidate has experience and interest in healthcare and recognizes the need to keep close tabs on the changing industry to ensure strategies and solutions are timely, relevant, and effective.

The Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling and actionable content strategies for clients that effectively integrate multiple formats, mediums, and channels to reach target audiences.

  • Drive a strong strategic framework for content and messaging, and ensure strategic efforts tie closely to other agency discipines. Ensure content is appropriately mapped to target all audiences critical to our clients’ success.

  • Conduct thorough client content audits on digital and non-digital mediums in order to extract key insights and develop strategic recommendations.

  • Guide client goal-setting for content marketing.

  • Leverage tone, voice, messaging, and personas to in creating tailored content strategies.

  • Assist in development of content governance models to help clients manage content initiatives.

  • Design editorial calendars for clients and ensure content is consistent, on brand, and meets quality standards.

  • Monitor healthcare industry news and trends to ensure content strategy is timely and relevant.

  • Present content strategy recommendations to clients, while also providing education on best practices.

  • Mentor and coach junior staff members.

  • Collaborate closely with external client teams, as well as internal teams – including Client and Project Management leads, and key departments including Strategic Planning, Creative, Digital, PR, and Issues/Crisis.

The Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.

  • 5+ years progressive experience within an agency or internal marketing department creating original content and content strategies.

  • Proven experience with healthcare products and services strongly preferred.

  • Knack for creative writing and a critical editing eye.

  • Ability to understand content, copy and messaging in a variety of styles, voices and tones, adaptable to different target audiences, product categories and branding initiatives.

  • Ability to think conceptually about content and translate client objectives into breakthrough creative through words and visuals.

  • Must possess very strong analytic, strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to organize and synthesize information from multiple sources.

  • Experience designing content strategy for clients utilizing marketing automation and CRM platforms highly desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate positive, productive working relationships with multiple team members.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Billable target of 85%
