The Weber Shandwick Chicago office is currently seeking a Director for its Healthcare Practice. The ideal candidate will have experiences with regulatory and data milestones, FDA approvals and product launches, issues management, consumer education and engagement and advocacy relations.

A Director is responsible for managing mid-level client relationships and has regular exposure to client senior management, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of our Healthcare Practice. Group Managers are responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and account team. They must supervise multiple projects and team members. Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities coordinating with client's goals, effectively delegating projects, offering counsel to team members and allocating agency resources to match client budgets. Group Managers are also engaged with business development, strategic program planning and the development of creative concepts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Keep client programs on schedule and ensure all deadlines are met
• Develop and maintain extremely strong interpersonal relationships with day to day clients and internal team members
• Serve as a primary contact for the day to day client
• Address any issues, trouble shoot problems and provide strategic counsel
• Work with senior team leaders to on strategic, creative and implementation planning
• Know industry issues that directly or indirectly affect client business
• Responsible for developing media relations strategy and delivering results
• Generate ideas for PR programs, media outreach and pitch efforts
• Implement public relations campaigns and events
• Supervise all writing and editing
• Edit work and provide direction to ensure quality control
• Attend account reviews and staff meetings - provide ongoing communications and feedback
• Ensure that account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines
• Create and manage client budgets
• Develop and deliver client or new business presentations


 Basic Qualifications:
• 6+ years healthcare public relations experience
• BA or BS Communications or related degree
