Group Manager/Account Director - Weber Shandwick

Our New York office is currently seeking a Group Manager/Account Director. The ideal candidate will have experiences with corporate positioning and thought leadership, regulatory and data milestones, product launches and branded/unbranded campaigns, issues management, digital engagement and advocacy relations.

The GM/AD is responsible for managing mid-level client relationships and has regular exposure to client senior management, playing a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of dna. GM/AD-s are responsible for all aspects of a client relationship and account team. They must supervise multiple projects and team members. Other responsibilities include recommending programs and activities coordinating with client's goals, effectively delegating projects, offering counsel to team members and allocating agency resources to match client budgets. They are also engaged with business development, strategic program planning and the development of creative concepts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Keeping client programs on schedule and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Developing and maintaining extremely strong interpersonal relationships with day to day clients and internal team members
  • Serving as a primary contact for the day to day client
  • Addressing any issues, trouble shoot problems and provide strategic counsel
  • Working with senior team leaders to on strategic, creative and implementation planning
  • Knowing industry issues that directly or indirectly affect client business
  • Generating ideas for PR programs, digital initiatives, advocacy, media outreach and pitch efforts
  • Implementing public relations campaigns and events
  • Supervising all writing and editing
  • Editing work and providing direction to ensure quality control
  • Attending account reviews and staff meetings - providing ongoing communications and feedback
  • Ensuring that account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines
  • Creating and managing client budgets; overseeing the monthly client billing process
  • Developing and delivering client or new business presentations
  • Assessing opportunities or challenges on the account and providing solutions/next steps
  • Keeping an eye on the media landscape and identifying potential opportunities or threats

Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years healthcare public relations experience
  • BA or BS Communications or related degree
