A leading media relations consultancy and press release distribution service founded in 2007, APO Group (www.APO-opa.com and www.africa-newsroom.com) seeks to hire a Head of Media Relations division to organize and manage media relations projects across the globe for its 350+ clients.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Media Relations division is the leader of the Project Manager team; that is inclusive of the Project Managers and the Senior Project Managers. S/he is responsible for setting goals, role delegation, setting objectives and establishing priorities.

This role will be an incremental part of the Management Team in the function of managing Project Managers responsible for delivering media activities for multiple clients at one time.

The Head of Media Relations division will report to the Management Team and will be accountable for all media relations projects small and large up to 2M Euros (press conferences, interviews, op-ed, photo and video production and distribution, media monitoring, media events, etc…)

S\he will have a minimum of 10 years experience in the field of public relations and communications either working for an agency or having worked in a management position at corporate level.

Working collaboratively with the management team in creating a strategic value proposition, the Head of Media Relations division will be also responsible for proposing ideas and possibly a comprehensive plan of action to arrive to the desired results expected by client and/or APO Group.

Fluency in speaking and writing English is required. French would be an asset.

The position is home-based (telework) but will require travelling on occasions.

The ideal person will have a sense of urgency and initiative with additional skills listed below.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Post Graduate education related to international development or economic development in emerging markets preferably Africa and Middle East.

8. Possesses a strong intuitive understanding of other people and what is important to them; interpersonal perceptiveness.

9. Persuasive skills in enlisting others’ support and assistance in influencing others; skill at building agreement and cooperation and a unified sense of purpose, particularly in approaching others and trying to persuade them as well.
