We are currently seeking a Marketing / Public Relations Account Director to lead accounts on media and influencer relations, thought leadership and overall communications strategy. Directors lead by example and are ultimately responsible for client retention, new business, strategy development, executing client programs, development of junior staff, and demonstrating a track record of high quality client service. Directors are expected to establish strong relationships with their clients through frequent high-value conversations and in-person meetings, offering counsel on matters related to the client, products, industry and competitive landscape. They have an acute understanding of navigating client relationships at all levels, team development and growth opportunities.

Directors are viewed as indispensable team members by clients and internally within the agency. They are great teachers and widely recognized and emulated as model account leads that consistently produce results across a variety of situations. While they have an expertise or two, they can adapt to almost any situation with great success. Attitude towards self and agency improvement is infectious and an inspiration to peers, direct reports and senior staff. Exemplary models of agency values, their behavior and actions are tone-setting internally and externally. No job is beneath them.

Some things to note about this role:

  • AD's are the lead decision maker on each account and influence / direct the team to drive results.
  • AD's are great mentors and managers, ultimately responsible for the happiness, career growth and performance of direct reports.
  • AD's are masters of agency processes and drive agency innovation with their feedback.
  • AD's take lead to create solutions when account challenges arise. If results are poor, they analyze the efforts to date and collaborate with the team to create new opportunities, pitch angles, strategies, etc. They do not sit idly by expecting others to solve the problem.
  • AD's hold tier 1 relationships that they can leverage at any time for their clients and are available to jump in at any moment to handle initiatives (pitching, list building, strategy, etc) as needed.
  • AD's have a high level of understanding of agency core services / strategies / tactics and are able to speak to clients and new business prospects from a place of expertise, experience and confidence.
  • No path is set in stone and there is no clear next step from the Director role that can be applied to every individual. High performing AD’s are future executives, managers of the agency and key to our constant evolution that keeps us outperforming the competition.
  • High performing AD’s are the type of leaders who, with the support of the agency's Executive Team, take initiative to build the role they want versus climb a ladder.

  • Run a 5k in under 25 minutes
    • We have 2 or 3 people that can do this, but we have a couple Ironman athletes (including Max), a few marathoners and a mountain biker who does 80+ mile races. Lots of yogis too.
  • Solve a Rubik's cube in under a minute
    • We had an intern that could and it was mind-blowing.
  • Bowl a 300
    • She bowls a big deal.
  • Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
    • Our Director of Operations did this, only blacked-out from high altitude and oxygen deprivation once. Nailed it.
  • Be a world champion in anything
    • Youngest Yo-Yo World Champion in history worked with us for years.
  • Start your own business
    • Max did...and one guy owns his own photography business...the rest of us are working on it.
  • A snake shot (Foosball)
    • Google it. No spinning.


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant PR or marketing experience, preferably in an agency setting
  • Understanding of product launches, brand storytelling, and media and influencer relations strategies
  • Understanding of digital/new media marketing strategies
  • Expert in persuasive writing and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
