Ruder Finn New York is hiring a Senior Account Supervisor (SAS) in our Corporate Communications practice. This practice, one of the largest in the Agency, has award-winning expertise in thought leadership, executive positioning, media relations and employee engagement across industries including healthcare, technology and consumer, among others.

The SAS will be a day-to-day account lead with proven experience managing client relationships, providing strategic counsel, and executing strategic programs. S/he should also be able to manage and mentor a team, budget and assist with new business opportunities. 


  • Develop both external and internal communications programs
  • Lead the development of integrated client proposals with a focus on digital and social elements of plans and presentations across an ever-changing media landscape
  • Develop media strategy and outreach; assist with product launches and milestones, stakeholder engagement and education, and C-Suite Executive communications and thought leadership
  • Oversee operational performance of assigned accounts, ensuring quality work and deadline and budget adherence
  • Serve as a true strategic partner in forwarding the client’s media goals
  • Provide counsel, strategy and direction of accounts, as needed
  • Manage account teams to ensure that client needs are met on time and on budget and to provide growth opportunities for staff
  • Manage and mentor junior staff by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback in line with the agency’s values



  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in public relations, communications or related field required – public affairs experience is a plus
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to speak knowledgeably with high-level executives internally and externally
  • Ability to plan strategically and globally to assess and win potential new business opportunities
  • Ability to understand the experiences of other Ruder Finn employees and incorporate them into successful business strategies
  • Strong attention to all phases of account management and ability to proactively and effectively provide client counsel
  • A motivated, independent self-starter with willingness/ability to work in a client-focused, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to contribute to strategic thinking and the development and execution of programs
  • Experience managing budgets
