New York, NY
As a Senior Associate at Montieth & Company, you will be joining an award-winning global strategic communications agency with special practice group dedicated to the financial services sector and financial communications. We were named one of the top financial PR firms in the U.S. by The New York Observer. Our clients in this practice group include institutional asset managers, commercial and investment banks, private equity funds, family offices, and a range of large-cap publicly listed companies that trade in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Europe and Asia. We’re globally recognized for our integrated cross-border advisory, media relations and thought leadership strategies and programs.
We are looking for a candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience working with financial services clients at a PR agency. You will have a knowledge of investment products across asset classes, including fixed income, equities and alternatives, and will be skilled in written and verbal communication. We have a diverse global team and are looking to advance that diversity.
The work we do is intellectually stimulating and challenging. Our clients try to solve complex problems or take advantage of a critical corporate or business opportunity, including new market entry, new product launches, leadership transitions, M&A, capital raises and IPOs and corporate rebrandings. We value entrepreneurial candidates who are thoughtful, resilient and work hard to achieve their clients’ goals, and who gain satisfaction from seeing how their efforts grow a business.
You will work closely with clients to deliver impactful, high-level media results, and draft and edit high-impact content, including by-liners and press releases announcing major news. In addition, you will play a key role in communications strategy, client management and new business, alongside the group’s director and the CEO. With our leading issues, crisis management and public affairs practices there is also opportunity to work closely with other team members across our global offices on multi-faceted programs.
To help you do this, we are highly supportive of your professional development. As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to be a part of our Global Training Program, which includes a 2-month secondment to the London office to give you an insight into the pan-European media landscape where we also work on behalf of our clients. We also provide financial support for professional development and programs that develop your skills in PR and communications. Ideally, all our Senior Associates will progress to a Director role within the firm.
We provide generous compensation, including bonuses, sales commissions, and profit sharing, as well as contributions to your healthcare plan and a 401k. Other perks include work-from-home, reading days off, and additional Summer Friday’s off.
Bachelor’s degree in any subject.
At least 3 years of experience in financial PR, financial journalism, investor relations, investment marketing or investment client relations.
Knowledge of financial markets and institutional investment management.
Ability to write clear, concise and creative content.
Strong presentation and verbal communications skills.
Experience working with or for financial services companies, including asset managers, banks, private equity firms and/or hedge funds, is highly preferable.
Demonstrated track record of helping to win new business.
As a cross-border agency, we value fluency in multiple languages.
What you would receive:
Generous compensation packages, including bonuses, profit sharing, and sales commissions.
Global Training Program, with the opportunity for a 3-month secondment to London.
$1,000 annual stipend for your professional development.
Contributions to your healthcare plan.
Dental and vision available.
Access to the company 401k.
