The SVP or EVP is responsible for leading PR strategy for clients and managing high-level client relationships. In addition, the SVP/EVP will be expected to cultivate new business, identify opportunities with existing clients and serve as a thought leader across the agency. 

This position will serve as a leader, mentor and teacher to the internal team and a counselor to clients. S/he should have strong leadership qualities including superb people management skills. S/he should be able to attract, motivate, empower, coach and retain staff. 

You will provide guidance to teams and clients as to how to adjust strategy to best position them in the context of these shifts while also being mindful of the client’s competitive environment. In this capacity, you will also educate client teams to ensure that they are delivering state-of-the-art counsel and content to their clients. You will also serve as an agency leader across the US and contribute significantly to the performance and revenue of Zeno by partnering with fellow senior leaders throughout the US to drive the development of new business opportunities and the organic growth of existing client relationships.

Job Description 

  • Champion integration and collaboration with account teams to elevate ideas and mine for business growth opportunities 
  • Grow business prospects with existing clients; expand scope of work using network capabilities; lead new business outreach process and win business
  • Think strategically, creatively and holistically about client programs, identifying opportunities to infuse new elements into traditional programming 
  • Drive learning and ongoing education with direct team and across agency through trend watching and general knowledge management
  • Partner with our Managing Director, California, to specifically help grow and operate our Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices
  • Participate in the development and adoption of new products/services; leverage IP with clients
  • Consistently hold self and staff accountable for behavior and performance
  • Seek and suggest process improvements and support positive change initiatives

Specifically, we’re looking for someone with:

  • 15 years or more of experience in PR inclusive of agency experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a track record of developing and executing profitable public relations campaigns that meet client objectives
  • Demonstrated success in strategically leading clients in the enterprise technology space 
  • Financial acumen to run a practice, office or global client, properly balancing client service and profit margins
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be experienced as charismatic, compelling, credible and authentic to internal and external audiences
  • Prior experience with large scale integrated communications campaigns inclusive of ally development, internal communications, media relations, digital, social engagement and issues and crisis management 
  • Advanced strategic thinking capability, supporting recommendations and counsel with substantive arguments
  • Ability to own the room with dynamic presentation skills and proven success developing compelling decks that win new business
  • Great track record of success leading teams and developing talent
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership qualities, and a collaborative attitude
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Propensity to organize thinking, break down complexity and manage shifting priorities at a fast pace
  • Strong leadership qualities including superb people management skills
  • Ability to attract, motivate, empower, coach and retain staff
