The position…

The VP or Director provides our clients with exceptional service by developing and executing personalized campaigns to achieve client business objectives. The VP/Director is accountable for the flawless execution of client strategy by the account teams, as well as leading and joining with them in delivery of results from influencer relations, copywriting, client management and more.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Assume day-to-day leadership of accounts, including ability to develop PR plan and manage all staff, programs and budget associated with the account
  • Master use of the Hotwire work plan and budgeting process to ensure operational excellence
  • Understand client’s business goals and develop and drive teams and media programs to achieve those goals
  • Discern the difference between client requests and goals and demonstrate ability to negotiate with clients on priorities
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of client’s market and maintain relationships with key trades (advertising/marketing & retail/e-commerce), tech, news & business media and influencers (analysts, bloggers, Instagrammers, YouTubers, etc.)
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate openly, clearly and effectively with clients, own communication with day-to-day client contact
  • Drive programs and media campaigns that will meet or exceed expectations in results for awareness building, increasing engagement and driving preference for the client’s brand
  • Contribute to strategic direction for multiple accounts and take ownership for delivery of quality, results and resource management
  • Participate in new business development activities and learn to manage full new business process including fielding leads, conducting research, developing strategy for proposal, presentation development and follow-up
  • Attend industry events to network on behalf of the agency and keep influencer and industry contacts fresh
  • Be a key contributor in business development by working with leadership team to bring strategic media planning, research and insights to new business engagements.
  • Cultivate strong and effective teams by making resource decisions to ensure optimal staffing for accounts and development opportunities for staff
  • Demonstrate leadership by contributing to agency meetings, trainings and professional development sessions

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage up to eight accounts successfully by consistently meeting or exceeding client goals and receiving positive feedback (at least a three) on annual client survey
  • Gross profit target of 65% or more met quarterly
  • 1-2 new accounts per year are added to the Hotwire roster based on your contribution to new business
  • 10% organic growth goal of current clients is met
  • Maximum of 10% canceled time recorded on any account per year
  • 50 percent of clients can be case study worthy
  • Mastery of Hotwire tools and technology, such as Trendkite, Cision, TechNews

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts, communications, PR, journalism or marketing
  • A minimum of eight years’ experience as an agency director or in-house communications PR manager
  • Experience in B2B tech, advertising/marketing tech or retail/e-commerce business preferred
  • Strong database of influencer contacts in advertising/marketing, retail/e-commerce, general tech, news and business media and influencers
  • Hands on experience not just managing, but truly mentoring, direct reports and cross-functional teammates, a plus
