Vice President, Client Experience - Weber Shandwick

The Washington, DC office of Weber Shandwick is seeking an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic vice president to join our team.  This role requires an experienced digital strategist who will oversee core components of a new issue-driven national campaign and serve as a daily client contact. The vice president will have a high degree of autonomy to develop and implement strategies within a very short timeframe. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage a full content publishing program, including overseeing an editorial team, presenting content to clients, helping to plan for paid amplification and performance assessment.
  • Help manage a social rapid response and listening program that employs a large team to ingest, categorize, prioritize and respond to relevant conversations on social media.
  • Develop strategies to harness advocates online, whether those are industry influencers, consumers or other constituencies.
  • Take broad concepts and strategy and translate them into meaningful, actionable operating plans that achieve our client’s communications objectives.
  • Identify ways to measure success against campaign goals and achievable outcomes; monitor campaign performance and oversee assessment, including presenting data and analysis to clients as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Provide key data and analysis of digital/social/mobile media campaigns to clients as well as internal staff
  • Participate in new business pitch development and presentations
  • Mentor junior colleagues, formally and informally through account work and training opportunities
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience designing content and cross-channel digital campaigns for a political or issue organization, marketing or public relations agency, or other relevant experience.
  • Work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams – displaying proven ability to run a team, deliver complex programs in a timely manner, control timelines and budgets, anticipate issues and work towards solutions to complex problems.
  • Show a clear ability to work autonomously, with solid decision-making skills and ability to drive an agenda that merges client priorities with target audience interests.
  • Has a proven ability to link editorial, content strategy, paid distribution, and audience segmentation to drive online conversations.
  • Possess expert-level proficiency in social media platforms and inherent curiosity about emerging platforms. Should be willing to experiment with cutting-edge platforms and techniques and explain the “why this matters” to client at a strategic level.
  • Have experience running campaigns that integrate performance-driven digital paid media, especially on social media.
  • Have experience working with an analytics team to measure campaign ROI and generate insights that inform future recommendations and decisions.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to successfully present program recommendations and establish relationships with senior clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Bring enthusiasm for digital business growth and creating never-been-done-before client programs.
  • Have the proven ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment that requires and rewards excellence.
