We’re currently seeking a Vice President to join our global Social Impact team, which builds engagement strategies for purpose-driven organizations and social issues. We’re looking for people who understand how to leverage the power of creative communications to drive business and social progress – and who are energized about opportunities to build campaigns that bring complex ideas to life, raise awareness, drive advocacy and have an impact.

This role will be based at Weber Shandwick’s office in New York.

The ideal candidates will be proven media relations strategists and executors, creative thinkers, digitally-savvy and passionate about social change. We seek candidates who bring experience with the private sector, and who are following the conversations that are top-of-mind for our clients – for example, how to demonstrate purpose-driven leadership and elevate creative solutions in a time of global uncertainty and the era of fake news.

Core responsibilities:

  • Leading client projects, setting and managing against a clear vision of success and deliverables
  • Driving internal and client conversations, offering perspective and ideas that advance our work
  • Creating smart earned media strategies and executing them to drive top-tier results, along with team members
  • Delivering actionable insights to frame creative and strategic recommendations
  • Writing, editing and producing a range of documents, including communications plans, media and content strategies, landscape analyses, trends and insights overviews, and proposals
  • Managing engagement campaigns centered on compelling content and storytelling

Basic Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of 8-10 years ofrelevant communications experience
  • Bachelors Degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Are savvy when it comes to media relations and well-connected with relevant journalists
  • Bring a strong understanding of how to shape and deliver enterprise communications programs
  • Bring exceptional strategic thinking to develop solutions to client needs
  • Have an ability to analyze and surface insights from multiple sources to identify strategic implications and recommendations
  • Are exceptionally talented writers, clear communicators and engaging presenters
  • Are knowledgeable about the intersection of earned, owned and paid media
  • Have strong budgeting and financial account management skills
  • Bring proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, mentor junior colleagues and eager to facilitate team collaboration and learning
  • Instill confidence and a sense of shared purpose with clients and colleagues
  • Bring great energy, enthusiasm, curiosity, and a sense of humor
