BEIJING—The Holmes Report has issued a call for entries for this year’s Asia-Pacific SABRE Awards competition, recognizing Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation & Engagement.
The awards competition—in its 25th year globally and sixth year in the Asia-Pacific region—is designed to celebrate the best public relations campaigns from across one of the world’s most dynamic public relations markets, and has been expanded this year to include the In2 SABREs, which recognize excellence in content creation.
“The In2 awards are focused on insight and innovation, two areas in which public relations firms need to excel if they are to compete in the modern age,” says Paul Holmes, editor of The Holmes Report and chairman of the awards judges. “We introduced these awards in the US last year, and we have been impressed with the wide range and high quality of creative work coming out of PR agencies. We are confident we will see the same high quality in Asia-Pacific.”
The jury for this year’s awards includes agency leaders such as Albert Shu, managing director Hong Kong, Weber Shandwick; Beth Boswell, managing director strategic growth planning, FleishmanHillard; Doug Buemi, vice chairman and regional director, Cohn & Wolfe; Elan Shou, managing director China, Ruder Finn; Jonathan Hughes, president international, Golin; Kat Thomas, managing director, One Green Bean; and Stephen Lock, chief executive Indonesia, Edelman.
It also includes senior corporate communicators: Andrew Pickup, chief marketing and operations officer, Microsoft; Beate Bieniek, director corporate communications, Cisco; Rod Strother, director, digital and social center of excellence, Lenovo.
The awards will be presented at a gala event in Beijing on September 18, 2014.
