NEW YORK — Sard Verbinnen & Co. has brought on its former client Bob Rendine as one of several managing directors in its New York office. Until January 2014, Rendine was was SVP of global corporate communications for NYSE Euronext. During his three year stint, he was a direct report to NYSE CEO Duncan Neiderauer and led a team of 74 in six countries. Before this, he spent eight years at General Electric, most recently in London, where he was VP of global corporate affairs for GE Capital Global Banking, a business spanning 26 countries. He starts at Sard on September 15th.      

NEW YORK – Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired communications veteran Lisa Cradit as SVP and corporate advisory practice leader for H+K’s New York office. Prior to joining Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Cradit was the director of public relations and communications at First Reserve. While there, she developed a branding campaign spanning the US, Europe and Asia aimed at competitive differentiation and distinction. She also managed external communications around funds and investments in compliance with federal regulations governing registered investment advisors. Prior to that, she spent 17 years in the technology industry, creating new market categories, launching independent public offerings, communicating complex mergers and acquisitions, and protecting corporate reputations.

SAN FRANCISCO – Burson-Marsteller subsidiary boutique North of Nine Communications has promoted Tony Hynes to partner. Hynes, who has been associate partner at the firm since 2013, will be responsible for managing the firm’s accounts, providing strategic consultancy and driving new business efforts. He continues to report into North of Nine founder and CEO Jennifer Graham Clary. The firm works for clients like Ericsson, Intel, SAP and Snapchat. Prior to this, Hynes was GM and EVP at Weber Shandwick, where he managed its Northern California operation. Before that, he was the West Coast GM of Bite.

PORTSMOUTH, NH— Calypso Communications announced the addition of Tiffany Nelson and Marc Checket. Nelson serves as public relations manager, providing media relations and crisis communications strategy in addition to messaging and content creation. Checket joins the design team as a graphic designer, creating print, video, and animation assets to support client messaging.
