WASHINGTON, DC—Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired Scott Reed, a senior Republican political strategist and former executive director of the Republican National Committee, as a senior advisor. A political organizer and campaign manager, Reed oversees the federal voter educational program at the US Chamber of Commerce. Reed will continue in this role while he works with H+K. Earlier, he served as campaign manager of Bob Dole’s 1996 presidential campaign and as chief of staff to Secretary Jack Kemp at the Department of Housing & Urban Development.

WASHINGTON, DC—Katherine (Katie) Boehret has joined Burson-Marsteller as a senior director, based in Washington, DC. Boehret joins Burson-Marsteller after spending 14 years working closely with renowned technology journalist Walt Mossberg, 12 of which were at The Wall Street Journal. She also played an integral role in the launch of online publication All Things Digital and managed speakers at the highly regarded D Conference. In 2014 she joined startup Recode as deputy reviews editor/senior reviewer and transitioned to The Verge when recode was acquired in 2015 by Vox Media.

NEW YORK—GCI Health has added Alexandra (Alex) Peterson, formerly of Makovskly, as senior vice president, responsible for overseeing corporate assignments from pharmaceutical, biotech, medical technology and health IT companies. In addition, the firm has added Sarah Campbell as a vice president on the digital and social team, with an emphasis on content strategy and development. She was previously director of digital strategy at Rockfish, a WPP agency. Finally, Maura Siefring has been promoted to senior vice president of the agency’s media department.

WASHINGTON, DC—Jim Moorhead, former managing director of Burson-Marsteller’s US public affairs and crisis practice, has joined APCO’s international advisory council. Moorhead also served as a partner at Steptoe & Johnson, where he co-chaired the firm’s crisis management team. He also served as vice president and chief financial officer of Covega Corporation, where he led the company’s finance and legal departments, and in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs.
