WASHINGTON — Blue Engine Message & Media + JDA Frontline has hired Brendan Buck, a long-time Capitol Hill veteran who served the offices of the last two Republican Speakers of the US House of Representatives. Buck, who joins as a partner, most recently served as counselor to House Speaker Paul Ryan, leading messaging and communications strategy for the speaker and the broader House Republican leadership team. Previously he served as press secretary to House Speaker John Boehner and communications director at the House Ways and Means Committee.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Carrie Dooher has joined Crosby Marketing Communications as a senior VP, senior strategist in the firm’s Washington office. She will lead national marketing and outreach programs for nonprofit organizations and federal agencies.  Dooher (pictured) comes to Crosby from Ogilvy, where she was a senior VP leading branding, recruitment and integrated marketing campaigns for clients including the Peace Corps, Customs & Border Protection and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

SAN FRANCISCO — Adam Saslow has joined Kearns & West as a senior facilitator. He is based in Atlanta and will lead the firm’s new southeastern practice. He joins Kearns & West after partnering on several key projects including US Environmental Protection Agency’s Trash Free Waters program and the International Joint Commission’s Lake Champlain Richelieu River Study.

NEW YORK — PRCG | Haggerty has hired Jim Rocco, who handled marketing for HBO Sports and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as senior consultant and director of PRCG’s new sports marketing group, PRCG | Sports. PRCG | Sports will be enhancing its presence in sports-related fields by offering strategic public relations and marketing services to meet client needs, ranging from reputation management and brand positioning, to product launches and events, to individual representation of athletes and other high-profile sports figures.

NASHVILLE — Sandy Weaver, former senior marketing manager for the NHL’s Nashville Predators, has been hired as MP&F Strategic Communications’ newest senior account executive. Weaver is a marketing professional with more 10 years of professional experience, specializing in the sports industry. The firm also hired Alex Perez as an assistant account executive. He has spent the last three and a half years in Washington working at two government relations firms and for the Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources.
