WASHINGTON, DC—Ketchum has appointed KayAnn Schoeneman as senior vice president and director of the firm's public and corporate affairs practice in Washington, D.C. She reports to Jerry Olszewski, partner and managing director of the DC office. Schoeneman joined Ketchum in 2008 as part of the global research & analytics team, working closely with the public and corporate affairs practice. Prior to Ketchum, Schoeneman spent more than a decade in the political and public policy arena.
NEW YORK—Finsbury CEO Michael Gross has been named vice chairman of Finsbury. Paul Holmes, managing partner for the New York office, will be elevated to CEO for North America. Gross will help deepen relationships with Finsbury's largest global corporate clients by extending the company's support across the global office network and will drive Finsbury's expansion into the Japanese market. Holmes will focus on accelerating Finsbury's expansion in the North American region.
WASHINGTON, DC—Stephen Krupin has returned to SKDKnickerbocker as senior vice president and director of executive communications, after having served in the White House as a senior speechwriter to President Barack Obama. Krupin will lead a practice that helps C-suite executives, elected officials and leaders achieve their strategic objectives through persuasive storytelling, speeches and media interviews. Prior to serving in the White House and his first stint at SKDK, Krupin served as policy advisor and chief speechwriter to Secretary of State John Kerry.
QUITO—Llorente & Cuenca has appointed Luisa García chief operating officer for Latin America. Garcia will report to Alejandro Romero, partner and CEO for the Americas, will lead the company’s 10 offices in Latin America and a team of more than 300 professionals. Most recently, she was CEO for the Andean region (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile). She has been working with L&C for the past 18 years, in Madrid, Panama, and Peru.
WASHINGTON, DC—J. Kenneth Nasshan, former vice president of public relations for Kaman Corp., has joined APCO’s international advisory council. Nasshan spent 17 years at Kaman, a defense, aerospace, science, industrial supply, and music manufacturing and distribution company, where he directed the company’s communications activities in the US and North America. He currently heads his own firm, advising clients that specialize in the defense, high tech and international arenas.
NEW YORK—Edelman has added Neil Shapiro as executive vice president, financial communications & capital markets. Shapiro most recenly served as managing partner and chief operating officer at Intermarket, a boutique public relations agency focused on financial services and related sectors. At Edelman, Shapiro will advise clients on reputation management and media strategy as well as special situations.
BOSTON—Public affairs firm O'Neill & Associates has named Cosmo Macero Jr. a svice chairman overseeing the firm's communications and public relations division, and Hugh Drummond as senior vice president for marketing. Macero, who joined O'Neill in 2006, is also a former journalist. Drummond transitions to his new role from the company's communications practice. The firm also elevated both Alex Bloom and Cayenne Isaksen to senior director in the communications practice, and hired Christopher Tracy as a senior director in the firm's government relations division.
WASHINGTON, DC—Mark Irion, formerly CEO of the Washington DC firm Dutko Worldwide and most recently the president of Levick Strategic Communications, has joined law firm Hogan Lovells to create a new strategic communications service for its clients. The new service focuses on providing integrated communications advice to clients alongside the law firm's legal services offerings.
TORONTO—energi PR is expanding its executive leadership team with the appointment of Mark Nusca as managing director. A former journalist, Nusca previously worked for Porter Novelli, where as managing director he oversaw the agency's Canadian operations. In a newly created position at energi, he will be based in Toronto and oversee all aspects of the business, including staffing, client service and growth in the agency's Toronto and Montreal offices.
LOS ANGELES—Englander Knabe & Allen has elected Matt Knabe to the role of managing partner. Knabe succeeds Harvey Englander, who will now assume the role of founding partner. Knabe assumes leadership in the management of the firm, which includes strategic planning and business development activities. As founding partner, Englander will concentrate on preparing EKA for future growth by extending the breadth of services that address the needs of clients.
HOUSTON—Pierpont Communications has promoted Stacy Armijo to a newly created position of executive vice president and Mike Gehrig to general manager of its Austin office. Armijo—a 15-year veteran of the firm—has expanded her responsibilities to include client counsel, personnel management and business development. Gehrig joined Pierpont in 2011 and has worked with a broad range of industries, first in Chicago and later in Austin.
NEW YORK—Intermarket Communications, corporate and financial public relation specialist, has named Mike Gelormino as senior vice president and Jade Faugno as vice president. Gelormino joined Intermarket in 2010 and has more than a decade of experience managing programs for global financial services companies. Faugno joined Intermarket in 2011 and leads two of the firm's blue-chip higher education accounts, Columbia University's School of Public & International Affairs and Bryn Mawr College, as well as global financial infrastructure and services provider SWIFT.
HOLLYWOOD, FL—Fish Consulting, which specialized in franchise public relations and marketing, has promoted Jenna Kantrowitz, who has been with Fish for more than a decade, to senior vice president and chief operating officer. In addition Amanda Bortzfield and Lauren Simo were promoted to senior account directors. NEW YORK—Steinreich Communications Group has added John Jones as senior account director, working in the firm’s fashion practice. Jones most recently was director of marketing at Robert Talbott, and earlier served as the vice president of menswear at Kenwerks, the fashion PR firm acquired by Steinreich in 2016.
