NEW YORK—The Glover Park Group has hired Winnie Lerner as a managing director and head of its New York office, responsible for expanding the firm’s growing corporate communications and capital markets practice. Lerner comes to GPG from Ralph Lauren, where she ran global corporate communications. Prior to that, she spent nearly 17 years at Abernathy MacGregor Group, providing financial public relations, M&A, crisis and investor relations counsel to publicly-traded companies, ultimately becoming the firm’s co-president. Lerner began her career as a legislative assistant for the US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Telecommunications & Finance.  

NEW YORK—Edelman has appointed Trisch Smith as managing director, diversity and inclusion, for its US operations. She will partner with leaders across offices, practices, sectors and human resources to guide the firm’s organizational strategy and approach surrounding diversity and inclusion. She will lead diversity and inclusion training and development, diversity recruitment and engagement. Smith, an executive vice president based in Edelman's Washington, DC, office, is a 15-year veteran of Edelman.

LOS ANGELES—Taj Sullivan has been promoted to senior vice president, experiential marketing at PMK●BNC, a specialist in popular culture and entertainment. During her 13-year tenure at PMK●BNC, Sullivan has handled experiential programming for a number of the agency's leading brand clients, including Samsung Mobile, Nike (Jordan), JC Penney and Jenny Craig.

WASHINGTON DC—UK-based public affairs firm Portland has expanded its recently-established Washington office, appointing digital diplomacy and strategic communications expert Scott Nolan Smith as an associate director. Smith joins Portland from his post as head of digital diplomacy at the British Embassy in Washington, where he led digital strategy for the UK’s diplomatic network in the United States.

NEW YORK—The Narrative Group has established a new digital strategy division with the appointment of Jeff Ramos as digital director, responsible for developing digital campaigns, identifying partnerships and digital integration opportunities, and implementing social strategies. Ramos previously served as a digital strategist, community and content manager, and social media manager at such companies as Silver + Partners, MKG, and Games for Change. 

SAN DIEGO—Gable PR has promoted Emily Forgeron to vice president; Katelyn O’Riordan to senior account executive; and Paige Nordeen to account executive. Forgeron has been a member of the Gable PR team since August 2011 and had served as director of public relations for all Gable PR accounts. Prior to joining Gable PR, she served as an account manager at Porter Novelli and was a contractor at Qualcomm.
