WASHINGTON, DC—White House director of broadcast media Dag Vega will join Burson-Marsteller as managing director. He will be based in Washington, DC, and report to Ann Davison, US chair of the public affairs and crisis practice. Vega has served as special assistant to the President and director of broadcast media at the White House since 2009. Before joining the White House, Vega was the director of surrogate press for the Obama for America Campaign where he supervised the television booking operation.

MINNEAPOLIS—FleishmanHillard has appointed Dave Schad as senior vice president and general manager of its Minneapolis-St. Paul office. Schad succeeds David Hakensen, who served as general manager since October 2009. Hakensen will remain as senior vice president and head of the office's corporate and media relations practice. Most recently, Schad was senior vice president, executive creative director at PadillaCRT, where he was responsible for building the firm's creative group.

NEW YORK—Ketchum has appointed Diana Garza Ciarlante as director of its Atlanta office. Ciarlante will report into Hilary Hanson McKean, partner and managing director, global practices, and managing director of the Atlanta, Dallas and Toronto offices. Ciarlante most recently served as vice president of public affairs and communications for Coca-Cola North America and served on the company's sustainability and stakeholder relations team and its global multicultural leadership council. Before joining Coca-Cola, Ciarlante was head of Ketchum Atlanta's consumer brand practice, and senior director of communications at The Home Depot.

COLUMBIA, MD—Maroon PR has named Mark Foglesong director of news and multimedia, responsible for the creation and development of digital content, including broadcast, online and web multimedia, for Maroon PR’s clients. Previously, Foglesong served as the bureau chief and senior photographer for Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, where he produced, edited and shot weekly news magazine-style shows and documentaries for local sports teams, including the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles.
