WASHINGTON, DC—Michael Huttner has been named CEO of Fenton, the social change communications firm with offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Huttner is the founder of ProgressNow, a network of state-based communication hubs with more than 3.4 million members in 23 states. Most recently he was president of the Huttner Group, a strategy firm based in Boulder, Colo., and before that was founding partner in the Denver law firm Foster Graham & Huttner and a policy advisor to Colorado Governor Roy Romer.

NEW YORK—Healthcare communications veteran Fred Lake has joined PadillaCRT as senior vice president and leader of the agency’s health practice, based in the agency’s New York office. Most recently, Lake worked as a senior communications consultant for health care clients in Florida and South America. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president at Cooney/Waters Group, a healthcare communications agency in New York.

LOS ANGELES—Penn Schoen Berland has hired Jack MacKenzie as executive vice president to lead its global media and entertainment practice based in Los Angeles. Prior to joining PSB, MacKenzie was senior advisor to Oxford Road, an advertising agency, where he provided executive consulting services focusing on advertising effectiveness, audience understanding and corporate growth initiatives to a roster of emerging, disruptive companies.
