BOSTON—O’Neill & Associates, a full-service government affairs and public relations firm, has added Al Jackson (pictured) to its Washington, DC, office as a senior vice president and head of the healthcare practice group. Jackson previously served as managing director for Chandler Chicco Companies in Washington, where he worked with pharmaceutical companies, medical societies and trade associations, not-for-profit organizations, patient advocacy groups, coalitions and alliances and large consumer brands. His experience in Washington includes service as a partner at Ketchum Public Affairs and vice president of political affairs and grassroots advocacy for the American Hospital Association.

WASHINGTON, DC—Spectrum has promoted Liz Bryan and Luke Dickinson to vice president. Both will continue to lead key accounts in consumer products, biopharmaceutical development and academic research, while assuming greater responsibility for the firm’s business and staff development efforts. Bryan joined Spectrum as an intern in 2004, and returned to the firm in 2007 after working for the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center in Minneapolis. Dickinson joined Spectrum as an intern in 2004 and returned in 2011 after working with agencies including MSL and Levick Strategic Communications.

NEW YORK—Edelman has appointed Veronica Rodriguez as vice president, multicultural marketing, in its New York office. Rodriguez will report to Sonia Sroka, executive vice president and group head, Edelman multicultural. She joins Edelman from VPE Public Relations, a full-service US Hispanic communications agency where she headed east coast operations and oversaw the agency’s Verizon Wireless business.

WASHINGTON, DC—Veteran consultant Joel Malina has been named chief executive officer and general manager of the Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates subsidiary of Hill+Knowlton Strategies. Malina, currently executive vice president and managing director, began his tenure with the firm in 1992 as an intern under the mentorship of firm founder and Democratic strategist Anne Wexler. Earlier, he was a political aide to US Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY).

SAN FRANCISCO—Andrea Margolin has joined MWW’s San Francisco office as an account director in the technology and digital content practice. Margolin comes to MWW from education technology leader Blackboard, where as social media and content strategist she helped direct content and social media strategy and business-to-business corporate communications initiatives. Earlier, she worked at Stanton Communications.

WASHINGTON, DC—JPA Health Communications has added Hampton Shaddock to its Washington, DC, office as a senior vice president. Shaddock brings more than 25 years of experience in social marketing, coalition development and government relations. Prior to joining JPA, he served as the US director of public health and advocacy for Burson-Marsteller, where he was responsible for managing and directing the agency’s healthcare constituency and public health outreach programs.

NEW YORK—Hawkins International has added Lisa Caruso as the company's newest vice president. She previously launched JG Group PR with clients including Volcanoes Safaris, Belize, and the opening of Palace Hotel Tokyo, and was VP and management supervisor at LDPR.
