CHICAGO—Edelman has named Lisa Manley executive vice president, business and social purpose, in its Chicago office. Manley will oversee the practice in Chicago, reporting to Kevin Cook, managing director, Chicago. She joins Edelman from Coca-Cola, where she was responsible for global corporate social responsibility and sustainability strategy, as well as communications and marketing initiatives focused on water, health and wellness, climate protection, sustainable agriculture, packaging and women’s issues. Prior to Coca-Cola, Manley served as vice president and group director for Widmeyer Communications in Washington, DC.

BOSTON—PAN Communications has hired Jim Barbagallo as senior vice president, client relations. Barbagallo has over 25 years of experience as a PR executive. Before joining PAN, he worked for Porter Novelli, a global PR agency, as a partner and managing director in the Boston office where he was responsible for client relations in addition to expanding the firm into the Austin, Tex., region. He worked with clients such as HP, BMC Software, 3Com and Analog Devices, among others.

EL SEGUNDO, CA—Formula has appointed Debbie Etchison as vice president of its sports and entertainment division in Los Angeles. She will lead the division and provide senior-level strategic counsel to national clients including Cost Plus World Market, Belkin, OGIO, Avid and JDate. Etchison was most recently a vice president with Atomic PR and before that worked at Hill & Knowlton.

WASHINGTON, DC—Stanton Communications has appointed Capitol Hill veteran Jeff Urbanchuk as an account manager in its Washington, DC, office, expanding the agency’s public affairs capabilities. Prior to joining Stanton Communications, Urbanchuk worked as communications director for Congressman Bill Shuster, a senior member of the Transportation Committee. Urbanchuk was deeply involved in crafting messaging for efforts to reform Amtrak and America’s high-speed rail program and assisted on the outreach effort to pass the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act.

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has promoted Annie Block and Jenn Lake to vice president. As members of the agency’s leadership team, Block and Lake will be instrumental in driving the agency’s continued growth. Since 2008, Block has served as Zapwater’s group director, hospitality, managing the agency’s growing hospitality division. Lake joined Zapwater in 2010 and initially served as Zapwater’s first creative director, while also directing all new business development.
