NEW YORK—Alan Cohen has joined the human resources department at MWW as vice president, talent acquisition. In his new role, Cohen will work to grow and strengthen MWW’s pool of prospective employees, help in external branding efforts and help build corporate culture. He is the founder of Acts of Balance Executive Coaching & Training, where he developed executive coaching and training programs related to communications and conflict resolution, leadership, presentation skills, new business, management and creativity. In addition, MWW has promoted Doug O’Reilly, who joined the firm in 20111, to senior vice president of research and insights.

SUNNYVALE, CA—Airfoil has appointed David Bailey to lead its Silicon Valley operations. Bailey joins in a newly created position as executive vice president and general manager. Most recently, Bailey was senior vice president and general manager of Text 100, San Francisco. He spent seven years with Text 100, where he served clients such as Cisco, BlackBerry, CoreSite, Macheen, Linksys, Fusion-io and many more.  He also has held corporate communications positions with Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.

NEW YORK—Shift Communications has added Alan Marcus as senior vice president and head of its New York office. Before joining Shift, Marcus served in executive management positions at Porter Novelli, Ketchum, MWW Group and Edelman, where he developed and managed campaigns for consumer, automotive, technology, and food and beverage brands. Marcus also served as vice president of public relations and special events for children's luxury toy retailer FAO Schwarz.

MIAMI— Paola Iuspa-Abbott, a veteran journalist with more than 15 years of experience covering South Florida business, has joined Schwartz Media Strategies as director of media relations. Most recently, Iuspa-Abbott was a business reporter for the Daily Business Review, where she covered real estate, law and finance. She also worked as a business reporter for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Miami Herald, South Florida Business Journal, Miami Today and the Courier Journal in Louisville, KY.
