NEW YORK—Stig Albinus has been named chair of APCO Worldwide's global healthcare practice. Robert Schooling, who previously chaired the practice, remains at APCO in his other role as president, Americas.

Albinus is also senior director in APCO's New York office, where he works with multiple clients across healthcare industries, including projects around integrated stakeholder engagement; product pre-market conditioning and launches; issues and reputation management; and thought leadership regarding R&D, science and innovation.

Albinus held multiple executive roles in his 16-year tenure with Burson-Marsteller's healthcare practice prior to joining APCO, serving as head of the firm's European healthcare practice, where he was responsible for health care teams in 14 European markets. He was also a partner and director of integrated client solutions at Porter Novelli in New York and head of public affairs for the Danish Medical Association.

Kirsten Thistle, a communication and ally development specialist on science and health issues, and Courtney Piron, a former director in the economic and policy research group at Pfizer and leader of APCO's health policy practice will co-lead the Americas health care team.
