LONDON — BAE Systems is reviewing its UK consumer PR account, with an RFP going out to shortlisted agencies this week, the Holmes Report has learned.

The account for the British multinational security, defence and aerospace company has been held by Mischief since 2011. It is believed the agency is involved in the pitch.

BAE Systems head of media relations Gillian Churchill told the Holmes Report that the company's governance practice meant it regularly reviews agency relationships.

She added: “The appointed agency will work with our corporate communications team and UK lines of business to provide counsel and develop and deliver creative campaigns in support of our strategic priorities, focusing on technology and skills.”

The company is aiming to conclude the process by April this year.

BAE Systems group communications director Claire Divver recently left the company, which has this month been awarded work including a $474 million US defence contract and various supply contracts for the British army. Shares in the FTSE100 company leapt last week after Barclays upgraded its investor rating.
