WASHINGTON —BCW has selected Sam Myers, Jr., a White House and presidential campaign veteran, to lead the group’s grassroots campaign firm Direct Impact.

As president, Washington-based Myers is charged with building DI’s work developing local campaigns aimed at mobilizing communities around public affairs, educational and corporate reputation-related issues. He replaces Michael Fleischer, who now leads BCW's Washington operation.

Myers comes most recently from the agency world. Before a short stint as an Outcast Agency senior VP earlier this year, Myers spent two years at Huge, where his last position was VP of partnerships and development.

Previously, though, Myers worked in the public sector, serving in two presidential administrations and working on six presidential campaigns.

From 2009 to 2017, he served the Obama administration in a number of roles. His work for the US Department of Education as a White House liaison furthered policies that focused on narrowing the skills gap, boosting job creation, promoting nutrition in schools and offering responsible students free community college tuition. During the Clinton years, Myers was an advance staffer for President Clinton and a defense department fellow.

“I am thrilled that Sam will be leading DI,” said BCW North America president Chris Foster. “His more than two decades of political campaign experience and having served at the highest levels of government will be invaluable to clients that are navigating increasingly complex communications and legislative environments.”
