NEW YORK — Global skincare company Beiersdorf has hired Ketchum subsidiary Emanate PR to handle its social media and PR  in the US for its four brands that include Nivea and Eucerin.

It is understood the contract with the German-based company is around $3 million over three years. Emanate’s efforts will focus around Beiersdorf's four anchor brands: Aquaphor, Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie.

Earlier this month, Beiersdorf reported its first quarter earnings that showed a 9% rise in first quarter operating profit. Its consumer sales in North America showed a 7.5% increase, in part, due to its products geared towards easing skin issues caused by cold weather.

Representatives at Emanate and Beiersdorf did not comment.
