LONDON—Bite has added PR duties for social magazine app Flipboard, amid expansion in its consumer marketing practice.

The firm won a competitive pitch to handle Flipboard in the UK, which includes support for new products and events, including the recent launch of Flipboard 3.0.

The latest iteration of Flipboard offers more personalisation options and a customised daily edition for the UK. About 10% of the app's 100m users are in the UK.

In addition, Bite has been chosen to handle social media duties for global satellite provider SES. The assignment also involves support for the launch of the company's Fight Ebola free TV channel.

The new accounts come as Bite's consumer team reports 40% growth in 2015, under board director Jon Silk. An agency reshuffle has seen Matt Wright join as creative director to lead the content and social media arm of the consumer team.

The last year has also seen Bite add consumer briefs from Amazon, Hotels.com, GoDaddy, JML and Quip.

“We're 100% focused on bringing Bite's 'up for it' attitude to every client brief, no matter what size of business,” said Silk. “It's all about doing great work, being brave with our ideas, and having fun.”
