SYDNEY--Burson-Marsteller has continued its reshuffle of local market leadership in Asia-Pacific, by naming Christine Jones as Australia CEO.

B-M veteran Jones succeeds Brian West, who will depart the firm at the end of this year. The announcement of her appointment comes one day after the Holmes Report reported Matt Stafford’s promotion to the role of CEO in Hong Kong.

The appointments are the latest in a series of moves by Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific CEO Bob Pickard, who has effectively re-enginered the firm’s regional leadership since he took charge in early 2010.

In addition to Australia and Hong Kong, Pickard has brought in new local market leadership in Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as making a number of regional appointments.

Jones will take on the role in March, 2012 and will continue to report to Pickard. She will remain on the global and regional healthcare leadership teams.

Pickard said: “She has an outstanding track record in building business and inspiring teams to succeed with her infectious energy and focus on results.”

Jones rejoined B-M in 2010 after three years at Roche HQ in Switzerland, where she was global head of oncology communications. She previously spent a three-year stint as B-M Singapore market leader. Prior to that, Jones worked with Edelman/Rowland Company for 14 years including assignments in London, Australia and Singapore where she established the firm’s healthcare capability in Australia and Asia-Pacific.

Since 2010, Jones has been regional MD for business development across Asia-Pacific.
