MEXICO CITY—Burson-Marsteller has appointed Adriana Valladares as CEO and market leader of Burson-Marsteller Mexico. Valladares has more than 25 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing and journalism, most recently at Sony Mexico as the director for both the communications and marketing functions. 

Additionally, the firm appointed Guido Gaona as chief operating officer of Burson-Marsteller Mexico.

Valladares began her career in journalism, serving as an editor at La Jornada and UPI and as a news producer at CBS Telenoticias. She also served as the Mexico editor at Reuters, where she was responsible for overseeing all coverage within the country. She later moved to The Coca-Cola Company where she spent 10 years, including five years as the director of communications for Mexico. 

Gaona, has been with Burson-Marsteller for more than 12 years. Prior to his role as COO, he served as technology practice chair for Latin America and previously as Colombia market leader.

Burson-Marsteller has 12 wholly-owned offices in 10 countries in Latin America, along with four affiliates.
