REDWOOD SHORES, CA — The Zeno Group has hired Burson-Marsteller’s Jim Goldman as EVP of its Silicon Valley office.

Goldman will report to Todd Irwin, MD of Zeno’s Silicon Valley operation and tech practice leader. He will focus on senior client counsel, strategic media relations and thought leadership.

In August 2010, Goldman joined Burson as US tech practice chair after 22 years as a journalist. As of January 2012, he moved into a managing editor role for the agency’s global media practice. Prior to his work at Burson, Goldman was CNBC’s Silicon Valley Bureau Chief.

“Jim is a perfect fit for our technology practice given his journalistic background and deep understanding of the sector,” said Irwin.

Zeno opened its Silicon Valley office 17 months ago and counts McAfee and Brocade amongst its clients.
