NEW YORK — Byron Calamese, most recently a Porter Novelli EVP, has joined Zeno Group, assuming leadership of the agency’s New York and Washington offices.

Calamese formally joins in New York as MD, a job that includes directing business and employee development for his home office as well as the firm’s DC operation. His responsibilities also include providing strategic oversight for the offices’ core practices areas and senior client relations.

Calamese steps into a role last held by Thomas Bunn, who left Zeno in October to oversee BCW’s consumer marketing practice and integrated services in the US.

Before joining Zeno, Calamese spent just shy of a year as a Porter Novelli EVP and MD in in Boston, leading the operation’s business functions and helping manage the integration of Cone Communications into Porter Novelli, which purchased Cone in 2017.

Before that, Calamese spent two years working as chief experience officer for Phoenix House, which is focused on treating substance addition, after a 12-year run in Cone's New York and Boston offices.
