NEW YORK — Egami Group has expanded its leadership by naming Cheryl Overton, most recently a Zeno EVP, as the first president in its 10-year history.

Overton, who served as Zeno’s New York consumer marketing practice lead, will oversee the agency’s executive leadership team, as well as all agency operations and new business. She will also lead the agency’s core services including brand strategy, cultural insights, integrated marketing and PR among them.

In announcing the hire, Egami founder and CEO Teneshia Jackson-Warner praised Overton for being “an incredibly valuable” advisor to Egami as a consultant before joining Zeno.

"I knew when it was time to create a new position of president to lead our business into the next 10 years, there was no better person than Cheryl. The level of strategy, creativity, connections and cultural relevance she brings to our team goes unmatched, and I’m humbled by her decision to join us and know that she will be a leading force in our agency’s exciting, purpose-inspired journey,” Jackson-Warner said.

Overton has plenty of agency experience, having worked at  Spark PR, PMK|BNC, UniWorld Group, Ogilvy and Edelman, and has worked with brands targeting multicultural consumers. She has led campaigns for global brands such as Procter & Gamble, American Express, Target, Verizon, NIVEA, Unilever Dove and Starbucks.
