LEXINGTON, Kentucky — Valvoline has tapped Brad Patrick as the company’s chief people and communications officer. Starting Jan. 22, Patrick will be responsible for the strategic direction and global management of all aspects of human resources, including talent development management, compensation and benefits, and labor and employee relations. He will also oversee corporate communications. He brings to the job 30-years of experience, which includes his most recent role as chief HR officer at Tempur Sealy International and Shearer's Snacks.

NEW YORK —Chris Rosello, most recently Wells Fargo’s senior VP of federal government affairs, has joined HSBC USA as its US head of public affairs. Based in Washington, DC, Rosello is tasked with leading the bank's US public policy activities and government relations. He also and be responsible for advocating on behalf of HSBC with policy makers and elected officials.

PHILADELPHIA — AmeriHealth Caritas has named Cora Lee Klena its new senior VP and chief communications officer.  In her new role, Klena is responsible for the company’s communications, advertising, branding and thought leadership initiatives. She joins from Chubb, where as a senior VP she ran marketing, communications and its North American rebranding.

NEW YORK — AIG has added new senior members to its corporate communications team. Jim Wells, comes must recently from Brunswick Group, is the company’s new global head of digital and social media. Daniel O’Donnell, who also joins from Brunswick, comes onboard as AIG’s head of corporate communications.

ATLANTA — Cox Enterprises’s Sonji Jacobs has been promoted from senior director of corporate affairs to assistant VP of corporate communications. Jacobs will oversee all internal and external communications efforts, including leading executive communications for Cox's new president and CEO Alex Taylor and developing strategic business communications and messaging. She also will lead media and press relations and oversee employee communications.

CHICAGO — Kemper has named Barbara Ciesemier assistant VP of corporate communications. Ciesemier is responsible for the company’s internal and external communications programs. She most recently led corporate communications for CNO Financial Group, and has held senior positions at Celtic Insurance and GATX.
