MCLEAN, VA—Booz Allen Hamilton has named Craig Veith as vice president for external affairs. In a newly created position, he will oversee the firm’s government relations, media relations and corporate social responsibility functions. Veith most recently was founder and principal of Sound Resources, a consultancy specializing in serving associations, coalitions and corporations in the energy, environmental, agricultural, telecommunications, transportation and financial services sectors. Before founding Sound Resources in 2005, Veith had served since 2002 as president and chief executive of Direct Impact.

NEW YORK—Jim Badenhausen, global head of corporate communications at asset management giant BlackRock, will also serve as global head of marketing on an interim basis while the firm seeks a replacement for Linda Robinson, who is moving into new role as vice chairman. Robinson, a founding partner at strategic communications consultancy Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (now part of Finsbury) has been leading marketing and communications since 2011. Both Badenhausen and the new marketing chief will report to chief executive Larry Fink.

NEW YORK—Match Group, a provider of dating products including Match, OkCupid, and Tinder, has hired Matt David as vice president, public affairs. David's responsibilities will include media relations, corporate communications, policy initiatives, and marketing and PR strategy. He comes to Match Group from Outside Eyes where he was managing partner focused on public affairs and corporate positioning. He has also been a part of the last four presidential elections serving in various campaign roles for President Bush, Senator McCain, Governor Huntsman, and Governor Kasich.

EAGAN, MN—Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota has hired Kirstie Foster in the newly created position of vice president, public relations, responsible for the positioning of the organization and increasing Blue Cross' external leadership voice. She will lead external communications, including company reputation, external industry news and brand public relations. Foster comes to Blue Cross after 15 years with General Mills, where she most recently served as the director of corporate and brand communications. Prior to that, she spent five years at Weber Shandwick.

SILVER SPRING, MD—TV One has named Tosha Whitten-Griggs as the network’s senior vice president, public relations. Whitten-Griggs joined earlier this year and oversees the full scope of TV One’s communications and public relations strategies, including corporate communications, media relations, public affairs, and program publicity. Most recently, Whitten-Griggs served as the president and CEO of The FrontPage Firm, a boutique publicity firm.
