NEW YORK—American International Group has appointed Cindy Leggett-Flynn as senior vice president, chief communications officer. She will report to Jeffrey Hurd, executive vice president, chief operating officer and will be responsible for AIG’s communications strategy in support of its vision, mission, and values. She will oversee corporate brand and marketing, internal communications, media relations, and corporate citizenship activities. Leggett-Flynn was most recently a New York-based partner of the Brunswick Group and had previously served as managing partner for Greater China, based in Hong Kong.

LEXINGTON, KY—Sara Stensrud has joined Ashford subsidiary Valvoline as chief people and communications officer. She reports to Valvoline chief executive officer Sam Mitchell and is based at Valvoline`s global headquarters. She is responsible for global management of human resources and corporate communications. Prior to joining Valvoline, she served six years as executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Chico`s FAS, a leading women`s retailer.

TAMPA, FL—WellCare Health Plans has appointed Rhonda Mims to the newly created position of senior vice president and chief public affairs officer, responsible for strategic communications, public policy, corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, diversity and inclusion, and employee volunteerism. Mims was most recently the managing director of corporate social responsibility at law firm Paul Hastings. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president of corporate responsibility and chief diversity officer for ING US/Voya Financial.
