NEW YORK—DeVries Global has hired Love Whelchel (pictured) as global talent officer and Katharine Ricci as vice president, social planning.

Whelchel joins DeVries Global as the agency’s first chief talent officer worldwide. He began his career as a recruiter at Chiat Day advertising in Los Angeles and later worked at Young & Rubicam, where he became chief talent officer. Two years ago he was lured away from Madison Avenue to become chief human resource officer of Sean Combs’ Bad Boy Worldwide.

In her role as vice president of social planning, Ricci will be focusing her time on P&G as well as additional food and beverage accounts.

She began her career at Ketchum in a tech practice where she serviced the IBM, AMD and Kodak accounts. She later joined social media agency Attention, where she directed lifestyle brands such as Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, Red Stripe beer, and Mattel’s Monster High.
