LONDON--Hotwire has announced the promotion of Drew Benvie to UK MD of Hotwire Group.

Benvie has spent six years at Hotwire Group. Two years ago he founded Hotwire specialist social media arm 33 Digital. He will report to Brendon Craigie, who was previous Hotwire MD, before being promoted to CEO in December 2010.

Benvie will lead the Group’s entire UK operation, encompassing Hotwire, Skywrite and 33 Digital. A company statement said that his focus will be to drive digital strategy across all business practices, helping to integrate digital and social media throughout its PR service offering.

“Drew has played a fundamental role in shaping digital PR in the UK and remains an asset to the Hotwire Group businesses,” said Craigie in a statement. “He was recently recognised as the UK's most respected authority of digital PR by Reputation Online. With digital increasingly at the heart of everything we do, it is incredibly exciting for us to have an outstanding leader in the UK with Drew's credentials.”

Prior to joining Hotwire, Benvie spent two years at Lewis PR, rising to the role of associate director.
