MINNEAPOLIS — Dustee Jenkins is to depart her role as SVP and chief communications officer at Target, amid several executive departures and new hires at the retailer.

Jenkins, who joined Target seven years ago, will be replaced by her deputy, communications VP Katie Boylan. Her exit, on June 23, comes as the retailer overhauls its leadership team amid flagging sales.

Chief innovation officer Casey Carl left last month as Target opted to focus on its core business rather than its innovation projects. Meanwhile other departures this year have included loyalty marketing SVP Keith Colbourn and top merchandising executive John Butcher.

In addition, marketing SVP Tammy Redpath was recently shifted to India to become president of Target's operations in that country.

Prior to joining Target in 2010, Jenkins worked at Public Strategies after serving as director of communications at HUD.
