SINGAPORE — Sea, one of Southeast Asia’s leading internet companies, has appointed Martin Reidy as its director of communications.

In this newly-created role, Reidy will lead Sea’s corporate communications across its key markets – including Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore – and internationally.

Sea operates the region’s largest ecommerce platform, Shopee, and popular digital entertainment and gaming platform, Garena, as well as rapidly-growing digital financial services platform, Airpay.

Reidy joins Sea after three years with independent European PR agency Hume Brophy, where he headed the Asia team and led the firm’s engagement as advisor to technology companies in Asia.

Previously, Reidy spent over a decade in China and, prior to joining Hume Brophy, headed the Beijing office of FTI Consulting.

He said: “This region is now a global driver of growth in the digital economy and Sea is right at the heart of that. Every day, millions of people across Southeast Asia and Taiwan use Shopee, Garena or Airpay to access new digital opportunities. I think it's a great time to join a company like Sea that is moving so quickly and creatively to address the rapidly evolving consumer demands across these dynamic and diverse markets.”
