SAN MATEO, CA—Edelman has named Kelly Schwager as GM for its Silicon Valley office, filling a role that has remained vacant since Maria Amundson was named global technology chair last year.

Schwager arrives from Streetline, where she was SVP and CMO. Prior to joining Streetline in 2011, Schwager was a comms VP at SAP, where she spent five years.

In her new role, Schwager will oversee all operations, client service and overall business direction and growth for Edelman's Silicon Valley presence.  She will report to Edelman US Western Region president Cricket Wardein, and joins the firm's Bay Area leadership team.

“Kelly is a strong, creative and proven leader who is well positioned to solve for our clients’ business challenges, based on her unique and direct experience as an agency founder, a senior communicator at top technology brands, and more recently as a chief marketing officer”, said Wardein.

Aside from Streetline and SAP, Schwager has held senior marketing and communications roles at Symantec, Veritas and USWeb/CKS. She also has agency experience from Cunningham Communication and from founding her own marketing firm, Think*Aloud.

Edelman’s Silicon Valley office employs more than 90 people serving a broad range of clients, including Adobe Systems, Samsung, CitiVentures, Juniper Networks and more.
