MUMBAI--Edelman is adding four new offices to its Indian presence, as it eyes expansion beyond the country’s traditional business centres.

The plan will see Edelman open new operations in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune, adding to its existing three-city presence in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

The expansion comes as the firm announces that it has doubled its size in India over the past two years. Edelman launched in India in 2004, and currently counts 120 staffers in the country, along with new business from Avaya, British Airways, F1 India, Nikon, and Red Bull.

Edelman Asia-Pacific CEO David Brain said that the firm had already hired a Delhi-based coordinator for the expansion.

“We are hiring in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune to bolster our presence across the market. These resources are intended to service our existing client base as attention shifts beyond the main metros, and we will build on this structure per our needs and requirements in each city,” added Edelman MD India Robert Holdheim.
