WASHINGTON — Tish Van Dyke, chair of Edelman’s global food and beverage sector, will be parting ways with the agency after 21 years.
“We can confirm that Tish is leaving the firm. We wish her well in her next endeavor and thank her for her contributions to Edelman and its clients,” an Edelman spokesperson said.
Edelman did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding Van Dyke’s departure, or whether her departure signifies a larger reduction in positions. “In terms of other global roles, we continue to calibrate our practice and sector strategy to align with clients’ evolving needs,” the spokesperson said.
Van Dyke also issued a statement. “I am proud of the work we’ve done together and have every confidence that the team is in a strong position to drive our work forward,” she said.
Van Dyke spent nearly her entire career at Edelman, which she joined for a second time in 1997.
In her most recent role, Van Dyke built initiatives for companies and organizations in the food, nutrition, health and wellness arenas. She has helped clients work through issues including sustainable food production and distribution, food safety and quality, labeling, market entry, reformulation and innovation, dietary guidelines and food marketing.
Over the last 21 years, she also directed the agency’s pan-industry health engagement efforts and served as a member of the company's global health leadership team. She also co-managed Edelman's DC-based health public affairs and policy team, coordinating work with Edelman's broader public affairs and health teams.
Earlier, she spent shy of two years at Edelman as a senior account executive before leaving for a year-plus stint as a Burson-Marsteller senior associate.
