MIAMI — Edelman was named Global Agency of the Year by the Holmes Report in Miami last night, breaking Weber Shandwick's two-year stranglehold on the honour at the Global SABRE Awards.

Edelman's recognition was partly based on its continued growth (7.2% in 2015) as the world's largest PR firm, alongside a a run of superb campaigns — for such clients as REI, CVS Health, Chipotle and KFC — helping the firm take top spot on this year's Global Creative Index

Edelman's offering, still the best-rounded in the world, also impressed — with the agency sustaining market-leading operations across North America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, bolstered by excellent digital capabilities (including Digital Consultancy of the Year in Asia), a swathe of impressive acquisitions, adding up to broad strength across consumer, corporate, healthcare, public affairs, financial and technology.

The independent agency prevailed over a field of finalists that also included Cohn & Wolfe, Ketchum, Ogilvy PR and Weber Shandwick.

There were also Global Agencies of the Year awards handed out across specialist categories. Full analysis of all winners below:
