MUNICH—Hotwire has appointed Markus Hermsen as managing director of its German operations in Frankfurt and Munich. He succeeds Manuela Moore who leaves the agency after nine years to pursue fresh opportunities. Hermsen joins Howire from Fleishman-Hillard, where he was managing director responsible for its German and European technology practice group. Prior to that, he was managing director at Hiller Wüst & Partner (a subsidiary of Hill & Knowlton) during a nine year career with the agency.

LONDON—Clarion Communications has been appointed to work for Jägermeister following a competitive four-way pitch. The joint consumer and trade PR campaign will see Clarion providing a range of brand building programs, working closely with Jägermeister’s music manager Tom Carson to support gig and festival activity across the UK this year. The campaign will be headed up by board director Lucy Allen.

LONDON—Newgate Public Relations has appointed Alistair Kellie (picture) as a director. Kellie joins from Citigate Dewe Rogerson, where he worked for 12 years, six as a director, advising a wide range of corporate clients, particularly financial services, professional services and support services companies, both in the UK and overseas.

LONDON—Capital MSL, the corporate and financial communications firm of MSLGroup, has promoted Nick Bastin and Claire Maloney to managing directors. Bastin joined the firm in 2006 from sister firm Publicis Consultants , having previously worked at Smithfield Financial and Citigate Dewe Rogerson. Maloney joined in 2001 from the investor relations team of United Pan-Europe Communications, now part of Liberty Media International, having previously worked at Thomson Financial. .
