TORONTO — Canadian agency Environics Communications has officially changed its name to Proof Inc., a move meant to reflect the research-based nature of the firm’s operations.

“We chose Proof as our name because it speaks directly to what we do,” said CEO Bruce MacLellan. “We analyze and find insights, and then develop credible, measurable ways to reach and engage with audiences, with evaluation at every step.”

The rebrand permeates all divisions of the Toronto-based agency, which has offices in Montréal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Washington, DC. Sister agency Free for All Marketing, which specializes in event and conferences, will operate as Proof Experiences. Proof’s Ottawa-based government relations team is now called Proof Strategies.

MacLellan, however, said neither the firm’s teams nor services will be altered by the rebrand, as research and analytics will remain central to its work.

Environics reported 2016 fee income of $14m, a 14% increase on 2015, according to the Holmes Report's Global 250.
