LONDON — FleishmanHillard has won the European GoPro account, the first for its new sports and entertainment offering within the consumer team.

The brief for the leading sports and action camera brand includes consumer PR, social management and influencer marketing. Fleishman’s remit is multi-market across the UK, Germany, France and Spain, with the hub being run from the London office, FleishmanHillard Fishburn.

The new division is being led by Chris Gratton, who joined FleishmanHillard in April as UK head of sports and entertainment. He was previously group director at sports and entertainment agency Octagon Worldwide, where he looked after brands and sponsorship portfolios including Sony Mobile, Mastercard, ABInbev and Delta Air Lines.

Gratton said: “This move from traditional sports marketing to an integrated communications role is an exciting one for me. I’m delighted that the beginning of my tenure sees us start with what will be a fun, interesting partnership with GoPro.”

Gratton reports into head of brand Lauren Winter (pictured with Gratton, left, and UK CEO Jim Donaldson) whose London consumer team now employs 35, with recent new business wins including Samsung, Nest and the Norwegian Seafood Council. Other brands on FleishmanHillard’s consumer client roster are Bose, Crocs, Fitbit, GoFundMe, Johnson & Johnson, Singapore Airlines and Western Union.
